  • Kitchen helper

We've been pulling a chair up to the counter so Megan can help us when we make things like apple crisp or brownies. Last night she insisted on pulling up a chair while I was washing dishes, so I helped her roll up her sleeves, gave her a sponge, and let her go to town.

Megan never took a pacifier as an infant, but now she is fascinated whenever she sees another kid with one. She also has a baby doll that came with a pacifier, and she loves to walk around with the doll pacifier in her mouth. I usually hide this paci and only bring it out occasionally because I don't want her to think she needs it all the time, like a real paci. She got very serious about posing and held very still when I told her I wanted to take this picture.

And here's Megan's new feat: hanging and swinging from her climber. She's pretty strong!

  • Oatmeal!

Megan has started saying a lot of words over the last month or two, including "oatmeal," which is one of her favorite breakfast foods. It usually sounds like "oh-mmmm" when she says it.

Our friend, Mary, who is a big garage sale fan like us, found this Winnie the Pooh coat for Megan a while back and she wore it to church yesterday. We got so many comments about how cute Megan was!

  • Immunized!

Our county held its first public H1N1 vaccination clinics this morning, and Megan received the first of the two doses she needs. She only shed a few tears. Here she is afterward showing off her new sticker, which reads, "H1N1: I've been immunized!"

  • A visit from grandpa and grandma

My parents visited this past weekend and we had a great time. On Saturday, we went to "Pumpkinland" at a local farm. It was a huge play area with swings, slides, hay mazes, a hay ride, farm animals, and more. Later that evening, we went to a fall festival at our church, complete with costumes, kids' games, and chili and pie cookoffs. We took tons of pictures. There are almost 70 pictures, and it would be a big hassle to try to put them all on this Xanga page. So here's a link to the photos on Facebook (please let me know if it works!): http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=132287&id=538431156&l=bc6a81fb0b

Also, here's a video of Megan playing one of my dad's harmonicas. I think dad is now getting her one of her own for Christmas!
